SUPERGIRL SNOW PRO IN CONJUNCTION WITH COMMUNITY CUP
CONFIRMED AS ONLY ALL-WOMEN’S 5-STAR EVENT IN THE WORLD
NINE OF THE WORLD’S TOP TWELVE PROS TO COMPETE IN WORLD SNOWBOARD TOUR (WST) SANCTIONED CONTEST
Indialantic, FL (April 4, 2013) – The World Snowboard Tour (WST) today announced that it has granted elite 5-Star status to the Supergirl Snow Pro slope-style competition. The Supergirl Snow Pro, which has joined forces with the Community Cup, will be the only all-girls WST sanctioned 5-Star event in the world. The contest takes place at Breckenridge Ski Resort on Saturday, April 6 from 10a – 2p MST. Admission to the event is free.
The event will serve as a showcase for the best of women’s snowboarding in a contest completely designed by the riders. Nine of the top twelve ranked pros in the world will attend the event, including stars Kjersti Buaas, Sarka Pancochova, Silje Norendal, Enni Rukajarvi, Christy Prior, Silvia Mittermuller, Stefi Luxton, Jordie Karlinski and Ty Walker, as well as other big-names like Jenny Jones and Rebecca Torr.
“We are thrilled to be granted 5-Star status with the World Snowboard Tour,” said Rick Bratman, CEO of ASA Entertainment, the event’s production company. “The sanction from WST is recognition of the wonderful concept behind the event and a great next step in developing this as the premier female contest in the world. We are grateful to our partners, Warner Bros Consumer Products, Paul Mitchell, Warner Bros. Television’s Suburgatory, Kicker Audio, GoPro and Breckenridge Ski Resort, for helping to create this historic event.”
In addition to the best female snowboarders on the planet, the event will feature live music, ecology workshops and other female-inspired activities. The event supports eco-awareness and sustainability efforts through organizations like the Non-Toxic Revolution, Keep-A-Breast, Protect Our Winters, Plastic Pollution Coalition, 5Gyres and One Life.
This is the first event of the 2013 Supergirl Jam Series, the action sports industry’s only large-scale all-female competition and lifestyle series. Developed as a celebration of female empowerment, the Supergirl Jam Series features more than 150 top female pros competing in snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing as well as ‘girl-power’ activities at events held throughout the year.
The Supergirl Snow Pro in conjunction with the Community Cup will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports Net (FSN) in the fall. For TV times and more detailed information on the event, please visit www.asaent.com/womenscontest.
