Big Bear, CA (March 17, 2018) – Day one of Toyota Supergirl Snow Pro kicked off with the first-ever all-female boardercross (SBX) event, hosted by 4-time US Olympian, Lindsey Jacobellis. The field of competitors included many top-ranked snowboarders in the world, including 3-time US Olympian Faye Gulini, taking first place.

“In this event, what’s most important is getting the young girls involved and the camaraderie with all the female riders,” said Gulini, the Supergirl Snow Pro SBX winner. “Although I was super excited to cross the line first, I didn’t expect it because there were so many talented athletes out here.”

Supported by both the USSA and the USASA, the event serves as a developmental contest to help scout and mentor the next generation of aspiring female snowboarders. Top amateurs competed alongside their heroes in a one- of-a-kind pro-am format, including a team relay that paired Olympic and X-Game medalists with amateur snowboarders as young as eight years old.

Free event continues tomorrow Sunday, March 18th with Olympic Gold Medalist, Hannah Teter hosting the halfpipe competition, that will include a unique retro-style jam-session with rails, jibs, tombstones, and throwback obstacles designed for riders to showcase their creativity.

Admission to the event is free and includes access to the Festival Village, including female DJs, athlete meet-and-greets, and live concerts by Jordyn Jones and Nikki Sparks.
